The Power of Now
Our 2027 theme, The Power of Now, invites aging-services professionals to shape the future through the actions they take today. LeadingAge Washington seeks presentations that share fresh perspectives, practical tools, and real-world lessons to help participants act with confidence—strengthening their organizations, supporting their teams, and improving the lives of older adults.
One proposal opens the door to a range of speaking opportunities in 2027, including our Annual Conference & Expo and our Fall Conference.
Speaking OpportunitiesLeadingAge Washington offers yearlong education opportunities for professionals across aging services. These include our two conferences in 2027 and other learning programs throughout the year. Our audiences cover the full range of roles in the field, from direct-care professionals and emerging leaders to department heads and senior executives.
We want sessions on leadership, operations, clinical care, workforce and human resources, sales and marketing, resident services, and the future of our field. We especially welcome proposals that help participants work through challenges, make stronger decisions, and build practical approaches for their roles.
You may tell us your preferred timing or format. LeadingAge Washington will choose the best setting based on audience needs and program fit. Before we finalize a session, we’ll confirm where it’s placed and check that you’re available.
Attendees work in Life Plan Communities, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, senior housing, adult day services, and other community-based programs.
Many are experienced professionals seeking advanced learning; others are developing foundational management and supervisory skills. Clearly identify your intended audience and the level of experience your session assumes.
We give preference to sessions that:
- Address a clear challenge or opportunity in aging services.
- Offer useful tools, approaches, or lessons participants can apply.
- Engage participants through discussion, activities, or shared problem-solving.
- Build on the audience’s experience and encourage peer learning.
- Provide educational content free of sales pitches or product promotion.
We welcome proposals in these areas, as well as other timely ideas:
| Innovation, Technology & Design:
AI, data, digital tools, and environments that support independence and connection. |
Operations, Finance & Leadership:
Strategy, governance, financial sustainability, business models, and leading through change. |
| Workforce & Culture:
Recruitment, retention, supervision, succession planning, and workplace belonging. |
Risk, Policy & Partnerships:
Emergency preparedness, cybersecurity, advocacy, compliance, and collaborative solutions. |
| Sales, Marketing & Communications:
Occupancy, differentiation, consumer expectations, and effective outreach.
|
Clinical & Service Excellence:
Quality improvement, behavioral health, dementia care, and person-centered services. |
Proposals may include a 60-minute interactive presentation or panel, a hands-on workshop, or a facilitated leadership conversation. Extended workshops may also be considered as the schedule allows.
Please provide:
- A session title and 100–150-word description.
- Three measurable learning objectives.
- Intended audience, experience level, and preferred format.
- How you will engage participants.
- Presenter names, titles, contact information, and brief bios.
You may indicate interest in the Annual Conference, Fall Conference, or another event. One submission is sufficient for consideration across all programs.
We may work with selected presenters to refine titles, content, or format for the audience.
Selected presenters agree to:
- Cover session preparation and delivery expenses; honoraria and travel reimbursement are not provided.
- Register using the speaker registration process. Presenters may attend other sessions on their presentation day; meals and additional conference activities require separate registration and associated fees.
- Use the LeadingAge Washington branded slide template and follow our presentation standards.
- Submit final materials by the deadline provided for their event.
- Permit session photography or recording.
Proposals are welcome throughout the year. Submit by November 20, 2026 for consideration for the 2027 Annual Conference & EXPO.
Proposals received after a priority deadline may be considered as space allows or for a future event.
