FY 2020 Medicare Rate Calculator

We wanted to share with you the new hospice payment calculator that is now available through LeadingAge. This tool provides payment rates based on the fiscal year 2020 final rule and includes the changes related to rebasing continuous home care (CHC), general inpatient care (GIP), and inpatient respite care (IRC) payment rates and includes the effect of the ongoing 2% sequestration. HIS & CAHPS Preview Reports

First is a reminder that preview reports for both Hospice Item Set (HIS) and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) are available in organizations CASPER non-validation reports folder. The HIS report results are from Quarter 1 to Quarter 4 from 2018 while the CAHPS results are from Quarter 1, 2017 to Quarter 4, 2018. The 30-day review period will end on October 11, 2019 before the November 2019 Hospice Compare refresh. If a provider feels there are errors, you can request a CMS review and information for that process is available here for HIS and here for CAHPS.

TEP on Assessment Instrument and Quality Measures

Nominations are due September 30 for a Technical Expert Panel (TEP) to provide input on a hospice assessment instrument and corresponding set of quality measures in support of the Hospice Quality Reporting Program. For more information, visit the TEP webpage.
