CMS issued a press release last night announcing that their contractor, MITRE, would convene the new independent Coronavirus Commission for Safety and Quality in Nursing Homes.  The Commission is charged with conducting a comprehensive assessment of the nursing home response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The press release links to the nomination form.  When you get to the form, it appears to be more like an application, although MITRE insiders report that it can be used to nominate yourself or someone else.  They also state that an organization can only nominate one person.  

The one week nomination period ends on May 22. The Commission will start its work in June and finish by September 1.
