Assisted Living Quality Measures Final Report

Assisted Living Quality Measures Final Report

After the completion of a two-year workgroup, the assisted living quality measures report has been finalized and submitted to the legislature. One of the recommendations to inform consumers is to conduct a resident satisfaction survey using the Core Q questionnaire. Core Q is a nationally recognized tool consisting of the following four questions:

  • In recommending this facility to your friends and family, how would you rate it overall?
  • Overall, how would you rate the staff?
  • How would you rate the care you receive?
  • Overall, how would you rate the food?

While many details, including implementation, were undecided one recommendation was that it should first be piloted and funded by the state. The group also recommended improvements to the DSHS ALF locator and online access to the Disclosure of Services forms. The workgroup was ultimately cut short due to COVID-19, so the final recommendation is to reconvene the workgroup to further this work.

LeadingAge Washington participated in the workgroup along with assisted living member extraordinaire Dave Foltz, Executive Director of Fred Lind Manor and Gardens at Juanita Bay. Dave has served as the Chair of the Assisted Living Cabinet for many years. We look forward to our continued involvement with this project and will keep you updated.
