LeadingAge Washington Sends a Medicaid Funding Proposal to Governor Inslee

LeadingAge Washington and Washington Health Care Association sent a letter to Governor Inslee urging support for a 2021-2023 operating budget proposal that addresses Medicaid underfunding for skilled nursing facilities and assisted living. The request would make changes to the skilled nursing payment systems, including annual rebasing and inflation, additionally asking for an increase in the price set for direct care by increasing it to 105% of the median.

The associations also requested increases to the assisted living base rates and the Specialized Dementias Care rates that were vetoed by the Governor last year.

The Governor’s budget writing team is currently putting together the 2021-2023 operating budget proposal, which will be released by December 20th. You can find the full letter here.
