Katie Sloan sent a letter to congressional leaders’ offices stating LeadingAge’s disappointment that Congress has not reached an agreement on critical coronavirus relief legislation. Furthermore, the Executive Orders issued by President Trump responding to expired coronavirus provisions do not begin to address the essential needs of aging services. The letter goes on to state LeadingAge members are stepping up to act for older adults every day and urges Congress to step up and act as well. LeadingAge will continue advocacy efforts with outreach to the Administration, Congressional leaders, and the media to highlight these concerns and ensure that we must provide relief now. Please watch for an action alert to all LeadingAge members on Thursday’s call to send a message demanding that Congress return and provide the critical relief that is needed.
