Tax Recovery Services

Agile Consulting Group is a sales and use tax consulting firm dedicated to helping organizations stay compliant while fully maximizing the value of available tax exemptions. Since 2005, we have delivered more than $100 million in sales tax savings nationwide through recovery reviews and a comprehensive, turnkey suite of services. Our approach is rooted in deep technical expertise, proactive advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to client service.

Within the LeadingAge Washington community, our focus is on supporting Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) members. We partner with facilities to align their accounting and tax systems with current Washington sales and use tax law, ensuring they fully benefit from exemptions they already qualify for. This includes recovering overpaid taxes, quantifying refund opportunities on prior purchases, filing refund claims with the Washington Department of Revenue, and issuing exemption certificates to vendors to eliminate erroneous sales tax charges going forward. In Washington, facilities may recover overpayments dating back to January 1, 2022, provided claims are filed by December 31, 2026.

Our work is entirely contingency-based, so the fees are calculated solely from successfully recovered refunds, and clients are never invoiced until funds are received and confirmed. Our goal is simple: help LAWA SNF members reclaim meaningful dollars, reduce future tax leakage, and reinvest those savings back into their teams, residents, and operations with no downside risk.

Jennifer Ortmeyer, global insurance brokerage HUB International’s SVP of Employee Benefits in Washington, shares insight for our not-for-profit and mission-driven organizations dedicated to improving the aging experience. HUB advises how an organization’s culture, employees’ emotional connection to it and the power of the right benefits to support the culture are crucial to engaging employees and ensuring long term success.

The continuing difficulties of healthcare in Washington show little sign of abating: escalating cost pressures, a chronic labor shortage and greater risks to property, reputation and professional status. Healthcare organizations that provide forward-thinking benefits and implement effective risk management are more likely to thrive in the macro healthcare market. Click here to learn more from global insurance brokerage and LeadingAge member Hub International.
