Enrich the lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Lead MDS Coordinator role. The Lead MDS Coordinator is responsible for the timely completion and oversight of MDS accuracy of all resident MDS’s according to the OBRA and Medicare Regulations. The Lead MDS Coordinator works closely with the Medical Records Coordinator and the Medicare Biller to assure accuracy for the PDPM assignment of each resident. You will provide continuing care through these responsibilities:
– Completes and oversees in a timely and accurate fashion all MDS’s relating to the residents on assigned units to meet State and Federal mandated MDS regulations. Updates Care Plan and Nursing Care Directives while performing the MDS to assure accuracy and continuity of care.
– Confers with all necessary staff on assigned units as to the accuracy of information prior to completing MDS. Reminds appropriate staff when MDS deadlines need to be met and assures appropriate complete of all reports.
– Oversees, investigates, and researches information available, interviews resident and family members in order to obtain proper information for MDS accuracy completion. In addition, assures all MDS staff are doing the same.
– Reviews Utilization Review notes in order to be aware of the changes in the Medicare status of residents. Reviews, validates and oversees monthly MDS draft schedule provided by the Health Information Records Technician and informs the appropriate individuals of changes that need to be made. Works with health information records tech to validate finalized MDS schedule and communicates potential changes as needed to support accurate ARD (assessment reference dates) for WA Case mix and PPS (prospective payment) assessments.
– Enters all MDS’s into the LTCS computer program. Performs assessments on LTCS that are triggered on the MDS such as fall risk, Braden, bowel and bladder for individualized care plan developments.
– Completes all RAP summaries according to State and Federal regulations.
– Completes weekly review of all assessments to support case mix and payment accuracy (ADLs, end split credit and timely ARD adjustments).
– Completes oversight of Restorative programs to support restorative end split credit for care provided affecting score outcomes.
– Oversees and reviews Washington State Quality Measures used for Washington State Quality Enhancement payment.
– Learn and apply Company, Federal, State, and local rules, regulations, and policies.
– Other duties and projects as assigned.

Our requirements and qualifications for success:
– Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
– Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
– First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire
– Exceptional attention to detail
– Ability to understand and communicate in the English language
– Proficient-to-Advanced technology skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Point-Click-Care, and other common software-based workplace technology.
– 4+ years of specific MDS work experience

Salary Range: $42.00 to $60.00 per hour
