Program Assistant / Nursing Assistant PT at Fun, Social Daytime Memory Care

Old Friends Club is a place of friendship and belonging where people living with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive changes meet to stay active and creative. This time also gives family caregivers a healthy break. The abilities of the participants, or “Members”, range from independent to a need for cueing, mobility guidance, or hygiene assistance. Sometimes they just want a dance partner!
Be part of a welcoming environment helping Members to engage in activities while remaining safe and comfortable. You’ll work together with the Program Coordinator and volunteers to support Members for success throughout the 5-hour program day. This is a fun role that truly makes a difference for people living with dementia and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Support members in engaging in program activities including conversation, games, art, music, exercise, and lunch
- Assist as needed with ADL’s, offering dignity and respect. Members have progressive diseases. Help them remain in the program with friends as long as possible.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, welcoming environment.
- Assist members with ambulation and hygiene as needed.
- Honor appropriate boundaries and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Effective interaction and communication with people living with dementia
- Nursing Assistant Certification or equivalent experience
- Empathy, respect, compassion and humor
- Clear spoken English
Part-time
in Kirkland: Mon / Tues / Thurs from 9am to 3pm.
in Belleveue: Tues / Thurs / Fri from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
Salary range: $13.50 to $15.50 per hour.
