Rose Villa is seeking an Intergenerational Preschool Program Director to join our team!
Our Rosebud Preschool Director is an essential partner and leader of Rose Villa’s innovative enrichment child care program which builds bridges of interaction, learning, and fun between preschool aged children and our residents. The frequent community interaction enhances opportunities for children and older folks to connect and thrive together. We are a play-based and social/emotional focused program that puts relationship at the center of our work.
Are you the passionate, reliable, open-hearted Director we need to lead the Rosebud team?
Our Rosebud Director is responsible for providing compassionate leadership and support in the day-to-day operations of the program; including management of all aspects of the program including: staff supervision, program quality assessment, enrollment, classroom transitions, and other center responsibilities as necessary.

Here is a snapshot of what your day-to-day may look like:

• Responsible for the overall care of children in Rosebud Preschool.
• Planning and implementation of an age-appropriate program, development of interesting, stimulating and challenging indoor and outdoor environment, and planning appropriate daily activities.
• Develop intergenerational activities and nurturing interaction between elderly residents and children; support a safe, inviting, developmentally appropriate environment is developed and maintained within the classroom.
• Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and partners.
• Maintain the classroom, prepare materials for the children and certain clerical and record keeping duties.
• Leverage your business, sales, and marketing savvy to grow the Rosebud program in the community, leading to the growth of new families and children in our center.
• Open and close the center as needed.
• Attend staff meetings, parent meetings and other meetings as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding staff, families and children at all times.

Other items of note that are expected:
• Plan and implement parent discussion nights as COVID permits.
• Interview new prospects for Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher positions when needed.
• Help the HR Director plan in-service trainings based on the training needs of current staff.

What does it take to qualify?

• At least one year of solid leadership experience with the ability to develop, engage, and inspire
• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
• Ability to build relationships with families and staff and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand
• Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
• Budget and financial accountability with revenue generation experience preferred
• Must meet state specific guidelines for the role
• Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity.

Wage and benefits:
• Starting wage is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
• This is a full time, exempt position.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Must meet all Oregon Department of Education – Early Learning Division qualifications of director (OAR 414‐300‐0080)
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening
