Webinar: Use of EMS 911 Service Training – Thurston County EMS and LTC: Exploring Solutions Together * May 3rd

4Thurston County skilled nursing and assisted living providers are urged to participate in this important workshop, scheduled for May 3 from 9:30-11:30 AM. This free webinar will prompt Thurston County providers and EMS staff to work together to mitigate unwarranted use of emergency services through excellent communication, education, and established utilization strategies. During this session, presenters will:

  • Provide data regarding the use of 911/EMS services by long term care facilities.
  • Help providers and EMS personnel understand the challenges in ensuring appropriate use of emergency services.
  • Help providers distinguish between resident emergencies and nonemergent events.
  • Discuss regulatory and practical considerations for long term care staff and EMS providers in best serving residents.
  • Identify potential solutions to decrease nonemergent 911 calls.
  • Explore possible future steps based on continued nonemergent calls.
