2nd Annual Town Hall Conversations! RSVP Today

It’s that time of the year! Our 2nd Annual Regional Town Hall Conversation. This is your opportunity to provide input to LeadingAge, and us about ways national and state public policy is affecting you, the older adults you serve, and how policy could be changed for the better.  Each Regional Town Hall event has a Convener.  The Convener is a LeadingAge Washington member who has volunteered to serve as the lead and moderator of these events.  LeadingAge Washington staff will also be available at each Regional event to facilitate conversation, respond to questions, and importantly, learn from you about the policy issues that matter most.

During the Annual Conference, June 9-12th at Semiahmoo Resort, we will be hosting our 2nd State Town Hall ConversationThe State Town Hall event will include a report out from each Region highlighting the issues of importance to that particular Region.  The members gathered at the State Town Hall event will then discuss and debate those and possibly other issues of importance to the State participants.  The State Town Hall Conversation will be convened by Kevin McFeely, CEO, Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community.  Also participating will be both LeadingAge state and national staff.  Results of the State (including Regional) conversation will be shared with the policy Cabinets within LeadingAge Washington and with LeadingAge national’s Public Policy Committee, Board of Directors and staff.  The results of these conversations will be used to set public policy priorities to better represent your interests and the interests of older adults across the country and here in Washington State for 2019-2020.

Whether you serve older adults in affordable senior housing, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, home and community-based services, hospice, Life Plan Communities, or another setting, we and our national partner, LeadingAge, wants to hear from you. Please join us for these important conversations at a Regional event convenient to you and during our Annual Conference, this year being held at Semiahmoo in June!  This is also a great time to network with your peers and share challenges and solutions to the issues of today.
