Reporting of POC Testing to Dept of Health

Reporting of POC Testing to Dept of Health

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) is introducing new guidance for facilities conducting point-of-care (POC) COVID-19 testing to report results. Facilities administering POC testing for COVID-19 must report all their COVID-19 testing results (both negative and positive) to DOH. Reporting COVID-19 test results is legally required by Washington State WAC 246-101 and Washington State Board of Health’s emergency rule, WAC 246-101-017 (PDF)( https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Documents/1600/coronavirus/EmergencyRuleReportingCOVIDTesting.pdf).

If you have already received your level 3 access to NHSN-this requirement does not apply to you.  You will continue to report to NHSN.

Attached are the POC Testing Result Report Form, a spreadsheet template, and guidance for reporting results to DOH. Additional information is available on our webpage Reporting COVID-19 Test Results for Point-of-Care Testing Facilities (https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/COVID19/HealthcareProviders/ReportingTestResults/ReportingCOVID19TestResultsforPointofCareTestingFacilities). Below is the general reporting process.

If you have questions about reporting COVID-19 POC testing results, email doh-surv@doh.wa.gov.
