Governor Inslee announced the formation of three COVID-19 “Safe Start Advisory Groups”  Each advisory group constitutes a forum for the community to consult with the governor’s office and state agencies on next steps as Washington moves forward.

These groups will be led by the following agencies leaders:

Public Health and Health Care System; John Wiesman, Secretary Department of Health

Safe Work and Economic Recovery; Lisa Brown, Director of Commerce

Social Supports; Cheryl Strange, Secretary, DSHS

Dr. Sabine von Preyss-Friedman, President of the Washington State Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, Issaquah, will be participating on the Public Health and Health Care System Community Leaders Group. Dr. von Preyss-Friedman is working closely with WHCA, LeadingAge Washington and the Adult Family Home Council on making long term care more self-sustaining for the expected fall surge, including access to testing and PPE.
