Survey Request: COVID-19 Testing in Assisted Living – Respond by May 18th

Attention Assisted Living Leadership,

Recently King County Public Health started to prioritize COVID-19 testing in Long Term Care. They have just finished up testing in SNFs and now plan to move to assisted living starting with memory care. Because each assisted living community is unique, some barriers have been identified for testing. These barriers include the available staff to complete testing and obtaining physicians’ orders. Although we have just received confirmation from The Department of Health that COVID-19 testing can be delegated to qualified nursing assistants and home care aides in the assisted living setting.  While this is starting in King County, we believe asymptomatic (and symptomatic) testing in assisted living will eventually be done throughout the state.

To help us better understand the challenges you may face when testing your residents and staff, we have some questions we would like you to answer. Please fill out the following survey by Monday, May 18th. The information is valuable so we can anticipate and help solve these problems throughout the state. We are also asking that you start obtaining a standing order for COVID-19 testing for each of your assisted living residents now. Thank you in advance for your participation.
