LISA Initiative – Monoclonal Antibody Infusions

LeadingAge is part of a six-association collaboration to help providers seeking to use monoclonal antibody treatments with staff who are qualified to administer the infusions.  The LISA Initiative (Long-term Care Infusion Support Activity) uses Medical Reserve Corps volunteers to administer the infusions in long-term care provider organizations.  Another of the six associations, AHCA, allowed HHS to use its learning management system to offer a 3-4 hour online training curriculum that ensures nurses, doctors, advanced practice providers, and potentially other MRC volunteers to be ready to provide the service.  Information on the program is available in this article and additional background details and instructions on accessing the program are here.
