Washington Starts to Develop a Plan to Lift Restrictions in LTC

Right now, the Department of Health, Department of Social and Health Services, and the Governor’s office are currently drafting a plan to lift restrictions in LTC. This plan will likely be a phased approach similar to the statewide plan for opening the general public. We anticipate each phase will be dependent on community-specific factors such as positive COVID cases in the building, PPE, and testing. The Governor’s office and DSHS have both confirmed they will release the draft to stakeholders before its made public so we can provide input. While we anticipate seeing a draft early next week, LeadingAge WA submitted some further recommendations of guidance we believe is essential. You can find that letter here. We will update members as soon as we know more.
