DOH Guidelines for Returning COVID Test Samples to Labs

DOH Guidelines for Returning COVID Test Samples to Labs

What is the process for returning COVID-19 samples to the lab?
DOH has contracted two labs to process samples: University of Washington and Molecular Testing (Vancouver). Facilities will be assigned to one of these two labs, and instructions detailing sample collection and return are included with the supplies. A pre-paid Fed-Ex label will be included with the test kits and PPE. Samples are viable for 72 hrs if kept cold (2-8° C). Specimens may need to be sent in multiple shipments. All shipping guidance must be followed or the lab samples will be rejected.
