Board of Nursing Home Administrators – Upcoming Vacancies
The Department of Health is accepting applications to fill vacancies on the Board of Nursing Home Administrators. We have two upcoming vacancies that may be filled either by a health care professional working in a nursing home or an educator who has special knowledge or expertise in the field of health care administration, health care education or long-term care. This position will be open on or after May 28, 2021.
The requirements for this board member position, as set by law, are:
- You must currently be either a representative of a health care profession providing medical or nursing services in nursing homes; or
- You must be employed by an educational institution and have special knowledge or expertise in the field of health care administration, health care education or long-term care or both, or care of the aged and chronically ill.
Information about the Board and this position:
- This is a nine-member board with four licensed administrators, four health care professionals or educators and one public member.
- The board meets in-person four times a year, currently in January, April, July & October.
- Other duties include attending phone conferences to discuss complaints and investigations, reviewing & presenting investigations, performing Administrator-in-Training site visits and may also include some telephone conference sub- committee meetings.
