On October 13, 2022, as a result of the continued consequences of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, renewed the Public Health Emergency (PHE). The PHE has been effective since January 31, 2020.  This means the 3-day hospital waiver continues to remain in effect. The Washington State specific 1135 waiver for Nursing Assistants, Registered, to obtain their certification, will continue until March 29, 2023, OR until the end of the PHE, whichever comes first.
