King County Medical Society Recognizes Dr. Sabine von Preyss Friedman, MD, FACP, CMD

On November 10, Dr. Sabine von Preyss Friedman was recognized by the King County Medical Society (KCMS) and presented with the COVID Community Champion award for her leadership on advancing policies to protect older adults in skilled nursing communities throughout COVID.

During her acceptance speech, Dr. von Preyss-Friedman recognized and thanked LeadingAge Washington’s Deb Murphy and Laura Hofmann, WHCA’s Lauri St. Ours, and her colleagues on the WA-PALTC board, Drs Jessica Van Fleet-Green and Kevin Henning for our collaboration as we together pushed for the prioritization of older adults in the distribution of needed supplies, equipment, vaccines, and treatment throughout the long COVID response. She dedicated the award to the staff in LTC, who have worked tirelessly over the duration of the pandemic to keep residents safe.  We were pleased to join Dr. von Preyss and celebrate her achievement along with hundreds of medical and health care professionals at the KCMS event.
