Washington State’s Clean Buildings Performance Standard (CBPS) are intended to improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and lower operating costs in commercial, multifamily, and state-owned buildings. Skilled nursing and assisted living centers are required to comply. The law applies to buildings over 20,000 square feet and sets energy performance targets, benchmarking requirements, and compliance timelines.
