ALTSA: NH #2022-029 ALTSA: ALF #2022-017; Begin Using DOH Construction Review Services For All Construction Projects Prior to the End of the Proclamation

The Department of Social and Health Services (department) is encouraging all facilities to review their use of COVID-19 construction related waivers. Proclamations 20.36 and 20.38 suspended the requirement for a licensee, applicant, or facility to work with the Department of Health (DOH) Construction Review Services (CRS) for preliminary inspection and approval or recommendations before starting alterations or additions to an existing facility, or new construction, as well as throughout the construction process. Proclamations 20.36 and 20.38 also suspended the requirement for a licensee, applicant, or facility to work with the DOH Certificate of Need (CON) program for construction, development or establishment of a nursing home, as well as for any increases in the number of licensed beds in a nursing home. These suspensions apply only to temporary increases in bed capacity and projects undertaken to provide surge capacity for COVID-19 response in Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facilities.
