CMS Revised Two QSO Letters to Better Align with CDC Guidance

QSO Letter 20-38: Additional Policy and Regulatory Revisions in Response to the COVID-19 PHE Related to LTC Facility Testing Requirements.  CMS replaced the term “vaccinated” with “Up-to-date with all recommended COVID-19 vaccine doses” and deleted the term “unvaccinated.”  They also updated the recommendations for testing individuals within 90 days after recovering from COVID-19.  The testing requirements specify that routine testing depends on whether staff are considered up to date on their vaccination status.

Please remember, WA State DOH continues to recommend testing of all staff, regardless of vaccination status.

QSO Letter 20-39: Nursing Home Visitation – COVID-19: CMS replaced the term “vaccinated” with “up-to-date with all recommended COVID-19 vaccine doses” and deleted “unvaccinated.”  They also updated visitor screening and quarantine criteria.

The Nursing Home Visitation FAQs have been updated to reflect the revisions in the above mentioned QSO letter.
