Washington State NICHE Grant Extension
The Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) Team recognizes that nursing home leaders and staff continue to address an unprecedentedly difficult challenge with COVID-19. As such, we are again delaying the start of our Washington State NICHE Civil Monetary Program (CMP) Grant. We are extending the deadline to apply to participate in the grant to Friday, May 29, 2020. The application is available online (here) and paper copy WA_Grant_application_survey_final (here)
Message from NICHE in Consideration of COVID_4.21.20
We will present an additional NICHE Washington State Grant Informational Webinar May 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. Pacific for anyone who missed either of the previous webinars or wishes to participate again to have additional questions answered. Please register via this link to participate.
With delaying the date to apply until May 29, 2020, we anticipate that we will notify accepted participants by mid-June and begin the eight-week leadership training program the week of July 13. However, we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation with our colleagues at the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and make additional adjustments as needed.
The NICHE Team applauds all nursing home teams during this incredibly difficult time and looks forward to working with 30 nursing home teams to improve quality of care and nursing staffs’ abilities to care for older adults through the NICHE program. For more information about NICHE as well as access to many COVID-19 and other resources for older adults and their families, please see the NICHE website.
