LeadingAge Advocates Against New SNF CDC Reporting Requirement

LeadingAge continues to advocate on several fronts to eliminate or significantly change the nursing home CDC reporting requirements that were released on Sunday evening. Policy staff from LeadingAge will be meeting with CDC officials Wednesday morning and in the afternoon with CMS.  They have sent this letter from Katie Sloan to HHS Secretary Alex Azar and CMS Administrator Seema Verma, urging that they rescind the requirement because it is duplicative and will increase consumer confusion and nursing home staff burden.  LeadingAge suggests one standardized reporting form for universal reporting to states, localities, federal agencies and the public  They are finalizing a legislative request that will be added to our “4th” stimulus bill requests.
