LeadingAge Washington’s Annual Assisted Living Certified Leadership & Management 3-day program is designed to guide staff to understand and further develop their role in this environment. Presenters will focus on high level, day to day operations of the Assisted Living community. Participants will meet weekly (3-Tuesdays) over a four week period.

Content areas will include: Surveys; Leadership; Human Resources & Training; Partnership & Collaboration; Quality Metrics; Finance & Budget and Regulatory!

Upon completion of the course attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the future role of Assisted Living;
  • Identify leadership strategies that can be used in management of an Assisted Living community;
  • Identify opportunities for making positive change in your current community environment;
  • Identify strategies to recruit and retain quality staff;
  • Find and utilize regulations to support best practices in the environment;
  • Develop positive relationships with state regulators and other outside entities;
  • Effectively manage resident care & medication management programs;
  • Implement a workable quality assurance/improvement program;
  • Understand components of a strong risk management program;
  • Discuss requirements related to incident reporting, nursing scope of practice, fair housing and employment laws.
  • And, further develop their career through career development strategies, networking and mentoring opportunities within their immediate environment and the broader community.
