We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant who will be responsible for the day-to-day financial and accounting activities including month end close, reconciliations and analysis. This position plays an integral role in the Accounting department’s ability to successfully support its internal and external customers by providing accurate and meaningful data. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, resourceful and work independently with minimal direction.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BA or BS degree in Accounting or related area.
Desired five years general ledger experience including prepaid, accruals, journal entries and reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensures timely and accurate month end close process including journal entries, reconciliations of accounts and reporting variances.
Analyzes revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded accurately on a monthly basis.
Responsible for monthly resident billing.
Backup for payroll, accounts payable.
Monitors and documents internal controls, policies and procedures.
Assists with annual audit and tax returns.
Reviews and administers insurance policies, renewals and premiums for accuracy.
Creates and analyzes monthly metric reporting.
Maintains fixed asset system including monthly reporting and reconciliations.
Performs monthly financial statement reporting tasks.
Performs balance sheet account reconciliation.
Provides financial information and assists in development of financial analytical models.
Ad hoc projects as directed.
Coordinates and assists with accounting support staff.

Strong technical work experience in general ledger accounting.
Produce accurate work in a timely manner.
Prioritize and efficiently handle multiple tasks within deadlines.
Excellent Excel skills.
Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
Able to relate well and respectfully with internal and external customers with customer service orientation.
Deals positively with change.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving and results.
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
