Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in providing financial planning and analysis support to the Director of FP&A, CFO, company management, board of directors, and external partners. The analyst will interact with staff at all levels to help ensure that operating budgets and goals are achieved. Responsibilities will include building financial models and projections to aid in evaluating current business as well as new business opportunities.

Essential Functions:
•Develop financial models to support analysis of a variety of financial and operating activities
•Financial planning and investment analysis for business expansion and new business opportunities
•Assist in preparation of the annual operating budgets for Emerald Communities and its affiliates.
•Prepare financial reports and presentations for board of directors, management, investors, and resident meetings
•Assist in developing long range financial plans
•Benchmark company’s financial and operating results against industry performance
•Review and communicate monthly variances of revenue and expense vs. budget and prior year
•Analyze new resident financial applications
•Analyze departmental operations and recommend actions that would contribute to improved operating results

Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business
•MBA or CPA desired
•3-5 years+ in financial planning & analysis
•Experience with building financial models, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
•Good knowledge of accounting and financial concepts and practices
•Analytical experience and aptitude; quick learner
•High proficiency with Excel, building financial models
•Familiarity and aptitude in working with financial and accounting software
•Ability to work independently
•Good communication skills in English – speaking and writing
