Job Title: Registered Nurse
Reports To: Nurse Manager
Hours: Day Shift, 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $46/hr.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Adult Day Health Nurses work 8 hour shifts during the weekdays only. The weekends and evenings are yours. We are closed on most major holidays. You will not miss another Thanksgiving or 4th of July with friends and family. You will have autonomy in your work. We want your expert care to better serve our clients. You will have the support of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to working together to support our clients in meeting their health goals. About Adult Day Health
Adult Day Health provides skilled nursing therapy, rehabilitative therapies along with transportation, meals, personal care, and social services to adults with chronic health conditions. All our programs are focused on supporting the independence of older adults and people with chronic illnesses and disabilities who wish to continue living in their community.

Adult Day Health is currently working remotely and in the office. Staff are required to be in the office during program hours, and we plan to continue to offer flexible work arrangements to the extent that we are able

Full Life Care is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for frail elders and people with chronic or terminal illnesses and disabilities.

Overview of Position
The Adult Day Health Nurse provides individualized medical care, education, medication administration, treatment administration, and manages medical emergencies for our clients during the program. The Adult Day Health Nurse communicates with the Full Life Care team, external providers, and caregivers to ensure continuity of care. This position requires a certain level of autonomy but always has the support of a close nursing team and Medical Director. The Adult Day Health Nurse works closely with our multi-disciplinary team to support our clients in a holistic manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the job:
1. Addresses client health care needs by performing assessments, treatments and interventions (including footcare); consulting with caregivers, physicians and team on treatment; administering medications. Blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, heart and lung sounds, vital signs, diabetes checks, etc.;
2. Maintains continuity of care by documenting and communicating actions and information to meet WAC guidelines and/or Full Life Care policy;
3. Maintains continuity of care by communicating changes in client condition to team members; informing caregivers and physicians; documenting changes and service plan events; monitoring progress toward service goals and adjusting services as required;
4. Identifies client care requirements by establishing rapport with clients; completing assessments; interviewing clients, caregivers, physicians, team members and others;
5. Provides team with health care expertise by participating in team discussions; relaying health care information; consulting with team members on health-related client issues;
6. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with policies and procedures, universal precautions and other measures to prevent the spread of illness; adhering to medication administration and storage procedures;
7. Promotes client independence by establishing client goals; teaching clients and caregivers to understand condition, medications and self-care skills; answering questions;
8. Maintains nursing supplies inventory and placing orders as necessary;
9. Establishes a compassionate and respectful environment by practicing good communication skills; keeping client information confidential; conducting self in professional manner;
10. Trains new staff by giving basic overview of Full Life Care nursing services; demonstrating proper use of Personal Protective Equipment;
11. Support CAPABLE partnership between Aging and Disability Services and Full Life Care.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS of the job:
1. Complete projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor;
2. Actively participates in quarterly nursing meetings;
3. Administers annual PPD screens to staff, volunteers and clients;
4. Provides consultation to LPN staff as directed by Supervisor, the WAC for Adult Day Health, and the RCW for nursing;

Educational Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:
1. Must be licensed in Washington state as a Registered Nurse and have one or more years of experience in a health or social services setting;
2. Must have valid CPR certification and complete the HIV/AIDS information course;
3. Computer experience preferred;
4. Employees are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless granted a medical or religious exemption.
5. Employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless granted a medical or religious exemption.

Physical Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:
1. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and support clients’ mobility
