Food Service Workers are responsible for cleaning the kitchen area and dining/kitchenware in compliance with applicable food and sanitation codes.  All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of assisted living.

Essential Duties: Include the following; other duties may be assigned depending upon project, client or workflow needs.

  • Cleans all kitchen surfaces and equipment according to the posted cleaning schedule
  • Operates, assembles, disassembles, cleans, and de-limes dishwasher
  • Cleans grease spills properly
  • Immediately cleans up all floor spills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper infection-control techniques including cleaning, storage, and food handling
  • Demonstrates safe and proper techniques for chemical/cleaning solution use
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency and safety procedures
  • Preps all varieties of salads, vegetables, cheese, meat, and desserts, as necessary
  • Responsible for participating in and supporting the resident-centered activity program
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Training/Experience or Special Skills:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 Lbs
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Dependable
  • Must be able to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must read and write English
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks all at once

Education & Experience: 

  • Minimum 10th grade education
  • Customer service or people-oriented
  • No prior experience needed

Licenses or Certificates:  Current Washington Food Handlers Permit

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:  The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee in a FS Worker environment to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Work is performed mostly in residential environment with a low to medium noise volume; while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to read, speak, stand, walk, sit, observe & provide assistance to the residents
  • Must be able to walk four miles daily
