Director of Nursing Services

The DNS directs and manages the delivery of healthcare services to meet the needs of the Health Center residents, and also directs the healthcare nursing programs and operations.

Provides leadership to employees and creates an environment that is professional, effective, and efficient. Promotes teamwork, kindness, and competency
Sets the standard of customer service for residents, families, visitors, and staff
Coordinates the completion of the admission, discharge, and evaluation materials and process for all SNF residents. Ensure appropriate documentation including functional assessments
Promotes an environment that allows residents to function as independently as possible
Participates in strategic planning and standard setting. Creates an annual work plan and budget for the department. Assesses the needs of the department annually.
Plans staffing needs and develops a budget for the year
Manages departmental budget. Monitors labor revenues, expenses, purchases, and inventories for healthcare
Monitors adherence to policies, procedures and standards and maintains an excellent culture
Meets regularly with the Health Services Director to establish direction and priorities.
Supervise all members of the Nursing department including coordinating and approving time off, conducting performance evaluations, counseling, and directing and managing the workflow for the department
Insures that safety, environmental, and risk management requirements are met and maintained
Schedules projected performance reviews for the year, projected in-service topics/dates, and projected dates to write resident care plans
Education and/or Equivalent Experience, Skills and Abilities

Licensed Registered Nurse with a current license in good standing
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university preferred.
Three years of experience in long-term care
Three years of previous management experience
A fantastic attitude, great energy and stellar interpersonal skills
