This is an exciting new position at Panorama that requires a proven level of fluency and experience developing, implementing, and managing programs that promote and contribute to healthy aging within an independent living environment. This includes all aspects of aging services that influence cognitive, social/emotional, spiritual, and physical wellbeing. This position allows for autonomy and creativity to develop and implement programs as needed for Panorama’s 1,100 independent living residents that allow them to maintain both mental and physical health, safely within their home, for as long as possible. One focus will be to build a Dementia Friendly Culture across the campus. The Director of Independent Living and Supportive Services serves as a member to our leadership team and must embrace our Mission, values, and collaborative “do the right thing” approach.

This position oversees all Independent Living Services to include an RN, Social Services, Housekeeping Services, Transportation Services, Resident Services, and the Urgent Response Team.


-Collaborate with key staff and resident representatives to identify areas of opportunity for programs on campus. Review current IL program offerings for effectiveness
-Decrease the stigma of dementia and increase comfort levels through education & skills training for residents and all staff. Determine the prevalence of dementia among IL residents and assess needs of both residents and their partner caregivers.
-Determine the prevalence of fall related injuries among IL residents and assess the need to develop fall prevention programs.
-Offer additional or expanded supportive services to allow residents to live more comfortably in their current IL setting and/or transition more confidently to a different level of care (AL or SNF), if desired.
-Build programs in collaboration with Lifestyle Enrichment to help prevent and delay mental or physical decline through socialization, physical exercise and healthy eating.
-Identify and build partnerships with professionals in the greater Puget Sound area to assist with early identification, diagnosis & treatment of signs & symptoms of dementia from experts in the field of brain health.
-Collaborate with similar communities on IL Services offered.

-Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required, Master’s degree preferred
-Experience with memory loss, dementia and other challenges experienced by seniors required, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
-Demonstrated successful experience with program development required.
-Experience teaching and/or presenting preferred
