Rose Villa Foundation is seeking a Director of Development to join our team!

The primary purpose of the Foundation is to support Rose Villa residents who have outlived their own financial resources through no fault of their own. This position is part of the Rose Villa Inc. senior management team and is the key team member to lead all efforts to support the goals, principles and vision of the Foundation. • Plans and executes all fundraising efforts
• Builds networks, enhances the Rose Villa Foundation reputation, and accomplishes community goals through coherent strategic and pragmatic plans
• Builds relationships of trust with all members of the Rose Villa community, including residents, the senior management team, Boards, and partners
• Designs and organizes activities and events for support, fund raising and community voice in a manner that supports the community and Rose Villa Foundation Board.
• Acts as a public relations representative in all networking and communications
• Creates effective Board team-building activities in order to use the best contributions of members in pursuit of Board objectives
• Designs effective methods for agendas, meetings, retreats, and communications supporting the Foundation Board

Who we need: Someone who will connect to Rose Villa residents and the community, achieving fundraising goals to assure the long term sustainability of the Rose Villa Foundation. Someone who is comfortable and adept at building rapport with residents in both donor and volunteer capacities AND who thrives while running their own (one-person) show.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
• Warm, empathetic, trust-filled, and effective engagement in all communications and relationships
• Strong economic and analytic skills in needs assessment, problem solving, and decision making while targeting and reaching goals and objectives
• Understanding of government and community relationships, nonprofit funding partners and policies affecting community-based living
• Command of data and information collection, analysis, and utility

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred)
• At least five years of prior experience in areas of community development and nonprofit environments
• At least three years of prior experience in project management and fundraising (five years preferred)
• At least three years of prior experience developing and maintaining working relationships with board members, donors and staff (five years preferred)
• At least two years of prior experience managing a donor database
• At least two years of prior experience in writing grants is preferred
• Prior experience working with Greater Giving software is preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean, insurable driving record
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check

Wage and benefits:
• This is salaried position – and we are flexible about how full time it is! Starting full-time salary (equivalent to a 40-hour work week) is $70,000-$75,000 per year, depending on experience
