Status: Full-Time
Position Overview
The Community Relations Specialist is responsible for driving occupancy growth through strategic marketing, effective sales practices, and community outreach. This role engages prospective residents, families, and referral sources to promote the unique benefits of our communities and guide them through the decision-making process. The position supports both private pay and Medicaid census growth across all CSLS locations.
Core Responsibilities
Sales & Lead Management
• Conducts in-depth discovery and personalized community tours.
• Ensures ongoing tour readiness by inspecting key areas for cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal.
• Maintains and updates the CRM database with all prospect interactions.
• Follows up consistently using phone calls, visits, emails, and handwritten notes.
Customer Service & Communication
• Builds strong, empathetic relationships with prospective residents, families, and referral partners.
• Demonstrates deep knowledge of senior living options and communicates clearly in both personal and group settings.
• Acts as a trusted resource and educator for families navigating senior care.
Marketing & Outreach
• Develops and executes a strategic, bi-annual marketing plan in collaboration with the Administrator and home office.
• Oversees advertising, direct mail, PR, and event planning to attract qualified prospects.
• Represents the community at external events, civic groups, and trade associations.
• Collaborates with vendors and stakeholders to enhance visibility and brand reputation.
Referral Development & Competitive Awareness
• Builds relationships with referral sources and tracks referral activity.
• Analyzes market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
Team Leadership & Training
• Coaches team members on sales and marketing best practices.
• Promotes a culture of engagement in census-building efforts among staff and residents.
Administrative Support
• Assists new residents with admissions paperwork.
• Maintains current CPR certification and supports after-hours admissions as needed.
• Participates in team meetings, CORE initiatives, and Supervisor On-Call rotation.
Qualifications & Attributes
• Bachelor’s degree (required).
• 3+ years of experience in senior living sales or marketing (preferred, not required).
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
• Compassionate, motivated, professional demeanor.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work flexible hours, and respond to urgent needs.
• High integrity, emotional intelligence, and commitment to serving vulnerable populations.

Environmental conditions for this position will fluctuate.
The rare emergency functions of this position will require an individual to be in reasonably good physical condition, having the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
