Deffet Group, Inc. is pleased to have been retained by Rockwood Retirement Communities to conduct an executive search for a Chief Executive Officer.

Rockwood Retirement Communities (Rockwood) is a premier multi-site, faith based not-for-profit retirement housing and services provider that has served Spokane seniors since 1960 with a mission of providing lifelong vitality and independence to its residents. Serving 800+ seniors and known for its innovative approaches to enhancing quality of life, Rockwood features two Life Plan Communities offering a wide range of lifestyle options and owns Appleway Court, a 62-unit affordable housing site located in Spokane Valley and managed by a third party.

Rockwood is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the community in meeting the needs of the next generation. The CEO develops and executes Rockwood’s strategic vision to ensure it continues to thrive as a leader in senior housing and services through future planning, growth and expansion, financial sustainability, and team member development and engagement. Additional key areas of focus include, but are not limited to, ensuring an enriching resident experience (physical, social, and spiritual), overall organizational excellence, and community involvement and outreach.

The successful candidate for this position will have at least ten years’ experience as a management leader with a full-service senior living provider or related hospitality organization, or five years in executive leadership of a CCRC of similar scope (preferred), showing dynamic growth, including the recruitment and internal development of management leaders and succession planning. Previous experience working with a volunteer board in a not-for-profit faith-based community highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree in related field and commitment to lifelong learning required and Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.

Compensation consists of a base salary ranging from $250,000 to $325,000 plus bonus potential of up to 10%. The company offers a 403(b) and the CEO is eligible for a 50% match of each dollar contributed, up to 10% of pay. Additional benefits include retirement plans, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid sick leave, in accordance with state law and local ordinances.
