Under general supervision, the Manager of Assisted Living directly manages the Assisted Living team and serves as a member of the community’s leadership team. The AL Manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. 

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, coaching and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Assists with marketing of the accommodations and services to prospective residents and families. Develop, monitor, and adjust work schedules to ensure adequate staffing to meet service standards and budget, conduct routine rounds of the community, participate in initial and ongoing resident assessments to help identify needs and changes in condition, assist in the development of the Resident Service Plan, participate in regular resident and family meetings, and help conduct new hire training and monthly in-service trainings.  As a representative and team member of HumanGood, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction.

General Job duties:

  • The Assisted Living Manager will be the designated Administrator for Assisted Living per State regulations.
  • This position is responsible for knowing and ensuring care and services delivered in the Assisted Living of Sun Towers in accordance to all Washington State laws and regulations;
  • This position supervises and monitors the care provided by resident assistants, and nurses according to assessed care needs and service plans; identifying significant changes and updating service plans to address needs.
  • This position supervises resident assistants, nurses and other team members of Assisted Living including hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, correction and evaluation of performance and customer service.

  • This position ensures all team members caring for an assisted living resident meets all WA State Assisted Living training requirements by keeping complete and accurate records for each team member;
  • This position ensures resident records are complete and accurate for compliance of WA state regulations;
  • This position coordinates and leads all licensing and complaint investigation visits from DSHS;
  • Responsible for all scheduling within budgetary limits and to meet the needs of residents;
  • Responsible for team member timecards and payroll sign off; ensuring limits of overtime and meal periods are taken;
  • After hours on-call availability required for nursing questions and staffing needs;
  • Maintain ongoing nurse and caregiver skills training with documentation thru skills checklists;
  • Responsible for maintain a safe living environment for AL residents free from abuse and neglect, ensuring education of mandatory reporting, completing incident reports and investigations and appropriate interventions for resident safety.


Minimum Requirements:

Education – Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse License in Washington State in good standing

Experience/Training – Minimum 3 years of related experience including supervisory experience working in health care, senior living, or strong service environment; or any equivalent combination of education and training which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Current CPR certification, LPN/LVN or RN license, DSHS Mental Health and Dementia Specialty training (may obtain after hire), Tb screening, drug testing, Criminal Background check and fingerprinting.
