Point Prevalence COVID-19 Testing in Assisted Living Facilities

Point Prevalence COVID-19 Testing in Assisted Living Facilities

DSHS has released a Dear Provider letter with the final plan for point prevalence testing in the remainder of assisted living facilities; those without a memory care unit. Unlike the last round of testing, this will not be in the form of a statewide order or mandate, rather recommendations that are strongly encouraged. We are encouraging all members to participate in this testing so we can better understand the rate of asymptomatic infection in long term care facilities and take measures to prevent spread of the virus. DOH will be providing all testing kits and PPE at no cost to providers. The state is asking that all testing efforts be completed by September 11th. You can find more details about the testing in the Dear Provider letter. DSHS and DOH will also be updating and sending out the testing FAQs.
