Nursing Commission – Public Rules Workshops: May 19th
The Nursing Commission filed a CR-101 on December 29, 2022, under WSR 23-02-037 for:
In line with Substitute House Bill (SHB) 1124 (Chapter 14, Laws of 2022) we are considering amendments to:
- Blood glucose testing
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Nurse delegation rules
SHB 1124, Glucose Testing and Monitoring, makes two changes that requires rulemaking:
- It allows Registered Nurses (RN) to delegate glucose monitoring and testing to all settings where the Nursing Assistant-Registered (NAR), Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC), and Home Care Aids (HCAs) work.
- It removes the timelines for RN supervision and evaluation of the delegated task of administering insulin and directs NCQAC to determine the interval in rule.
We have scheduled two additional public rules workshops to discuss these changes. To join a workshop, click on the zoom link on the scheduled day and time.
