Home and Community Services has issued a Management Bulletin detailing the new enhanced rates for medicaid providers.  Below you will find the new service codes for certain providers.  Please reference the Management Bulletin for further instructions on claiming these service codes.

Residential Providers (ALTSA and DDA): 

• For ALFs, use service code SA031,U1 to authorize an additional rate of $4.79/Day. 
• For AFHs (this covers all contract types), use service code SA020,U1 to authorize an additional rate of $13.54/Day. 
• For ARCs, use service code SA020,U2 to authorize an additional rate of $4.79/Day. 
• For EARCs, use service code SA020,U3 to authorize an additional rate of $4.79/Day. 
• For PDN-inclusive AFHs, use service code SA020,UD to authorize an additional $13.54/Day. 

Residential Providers (ALTSA Only): 

• For Specialized Dementia Care, use service code SA020,U4 to authorize an additional rate of $4.79/Day. 
• For ESFs, use service code SA020,U5 to authorize an additional rate of $54.66/Day. 

DSHS is working to implement the bulk authorizations of the rate add-ons for ALF, AFH and ESF providers over the weekend.  If all goes as planned, providers should be able to claim the add-on beginning Monday, August 17, 2020.

DSHS staff will be hosting an additional webinar on Aug 17, 2020 10:00 AM PDT related to this topic. This presentation is a repeat of the webinar presented 8/10/2020. The presentation will review information about the additional rates and service codes and what to do when they are available

Based on feedback from this weeks webinars, the Management Bulletin detailing new service codes for adult day providers is being revised to provide more clarity.  It should be ready for distribution next week.
