HUD Posts New Notice of Funding for Section 202 Program

HUD Posts New Notice of Funding for Section 202 Program

HUD has released the Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly program. The Notice announces the competition for $150 million in HUD Section 202 funds to expand the supply of affordable housing for older adults with very low incomes. Expanding the supply of affordable housing is LeadingAge’s top policy priority. The deadline for applications is May 26, 2021. Based on the number of units expected from the last round of funds, we expect this NOFO to produce about 3,200 new Section 202 homes.

Save the date: Tom Davis, director of HUD’s Office of Recapitalization who oversaw this NOFO’s development, will join us on Tuesday, February 2, at 2 p.m. ET to review and discuss this NOFO. We’ll be sending out Zoom information for this 2/2 at 2 p.m. event.
