Virtual Conference: Collaborating for a Dementia-Friendly Future: Inspiring Change * Sept. 29-30

Are you interested in making your community more respectful, understanding and inclusive of people with dementia and their families? Join us for “Collaborating for a Dementia-Friendly Future: Inspiring Change” – Washington’s first statewide conference on building dementia-friendly communities! A 2-day virtual event, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tues/Wed September 29-30.

The conference is for anyone who wants to take action to make their community more dementia-friendly, including people with dementia, caregivers, and people who work/volunteer in a variety of public settings: aging and senior services, arts and culture, chambers of commerce, city government, community centers, cultural associations, faith communities, libraries, neighborhood groups, parks and recreation, service clubs, social or health care services.

We’re pleased to welcome the project director of Dementia Friendly America, Meredith Hanley, to deliver the keynote address. Learn more about the conference sessions – from how to start an Alzheimer’s Café, to how to use innovative programs like Memory Sunday and Dementia Friends to build dementia awareness – on the event website.

The event is organized by the UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center, on behalf of the Washington State Dementia Action Collaborative, with primary funding from the Aging and Long Term Support Administration, and with a planning committee made up of advisors from across the state.

I hope to see you there!
