Interested In Being A Conference Speaker?
LeadingAge WA is seeking presentation proposals for our 2025 Annual Conference and Expo, which will have the “Ripples of Impact” theme. We are looking for innovative, cutting-edge ideas and practices on all aspects of aging services. Presentations on innovative concepts and addressing challenging issues are specifically encouraged.
 
Suggested presentation topics include (but aren’t limited to):
  • Innovation, Technology & Design within Aging Services — Sessions may consider business tools and solutions that support innovative programs, practices, and services designed to enhance resident well-being and satisfaction. Sessions may include stories of new construction or expansion and renovation of senior living environments that promote resident independence and accessibility while meeting strategic goals. It may also include the exploration of technology enhancements that inspire us to rethink the future of aging services, especially as artificial intelligence begins to alter how we manage clinical data, staff recruitment, sales processes, and more.
  • Operations, Finance, Strategy & Leadership — Sessions may explore critical business functions that drive success in the aging services industry. Topics cover best practices and innovative approaches that drive lead generation and occupancy, expand fundraising and grant opportunities, or explore new revenue sources and business models. Sessions should equip attendees with ideas and tools for optimizing organizational and financial performance, strengthening board relationships, or enhancing resident satisfaction for long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Insurance & Risk Management — Sessions may cover a diverse range of mission-critical topics, including emergency planning strategies for natural disasters or active shooter scenarios as well as the handling of targeted cyberattacks and resident financial scams. These sessions may present programs, strategic partnerships, and pioneering business models that mitigate risk, or bring experts together for conversations that empower leadership teams to strengthen organizational resilience in the face of uncertainty.
  • Policy, Legal Issues & Public Partnerships — Sessions may explore grassroots advocacy strategies, update attendees on state and national regulatory and legislative issues or provide insights into the latest initiatives and trends shaping clinical and operational decision-making. Discussions may cover a wide range of critical topics, including health care reform, compliance, surrogate decision making, and other pressing legal concerns. Sessions may also provide opportunities to learn about public initiatives related to the Multi-Sector Plan on Aging, the Dementia Action Collaborative, the Workforce Training & Education Coordinating Board, as well as expert guidance from state offices such as DSHS.
  • Workforce Development & Culture — Sessions may delve into innovative strategies and solutions to address the critical staffing challenges facing aging services organizations. Topics include best practices in leadership development, talent retention, and succession planning, while also examining methods to cultivate deliberate, equitable, and inclusive workplace cultures that prioritize employee well-being. Sessions may address ageism within the workforce and resident populations, explore strategies for handling staff substance use disorders, and present methods for increasing workplace belonging through enhanced mental health initiatives and innovative, affordable benefits. These topics equip aging services leaders and HR professionals with the tools to build resilient, diverse, and high-performing teams capable of delivering exceptional care and services.
  • Clinical Operations & Support — Sessions may provide strategies for maintaining regulatory compliance, managing surveys and investigations, and implementing robust quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) programs. Presentations may provide evidence-based approaches for addressing behavioral health challenges among residents, as well as best practices for infection control and prevention. These sessions prepare clinical team members and leaders with the knowledge and tools to proactively manage risk, deliver high-quality care, and ensure their organizations remain in full compliance with evolving industry standards and regulations.
Attendees at the conference represent a wide variety of staff disciplines from nursing facilities, life plan communities (CCRCs), assisted living and residential care facilities, senior housing (affordable and market rate) and community-based programs, including adult day and home care. Positions range from CEOs to direct line staff. The audience is experienced and knowledgeable, and expect current and high-quality information. Preference will be given to conference sessions that are interactive and engaging.
 
Please note that breakout sessions at our 2025 conference will be 60 minutes. Submissions must be received no later than December 15, 2024.
